Qaumajuq Environmental Ltd. (QEL) was established in 2024 by Inuit residents of Rankin Inlet in association with principals of Kilgour & Associates Ltd. of Ottawa. QEL is recruiting and training Inuit biologists and technicians through technical environmental services to the government of Nunavut, the private sector, and the federal government. QEL is registered with Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (NTI).

Qaumajuq Environmental Ltd. (QEL) is an Inuit-owned company that employs certified Inuit staff for the provision of environmental services to the private sector and regulatory agencies. Environmental consulting services support resource development through the provision of baseline studies of the natural environment, assessments of the effects of resource extraction on the natural environment, and construction monitoring. Services accommodate fisheries, wildlife, and water quality, the core competencies of the founding partners
